Mission

Matthew 25:35-36  "For when I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit."

Local Mission
Grace Presbyterian Church (GPC) focuses a large amount of attention on local mission needs and reaches out to the Lakewood community through these ministries:

Mission Team:
  • Provides resources for pastoral care interventions and crisis ministry to non-members and non-member families.
  • Provides ongoing supplies as needed to the Battered Women's Shelter.
  • Supports the work of Lakewood Community Service Center.

Adopt a Family:
For each of the major holidays, GPC adopts several families from the Lakewood Community and provides food boxes and other supplies (clothing, school supplies, even pet food) depending on the family needs.

Community Meal:
GPC has a long history of feeding those in need.  The 4th Thursday of the month GPC provides a free community meal.  Doors are open at 5:30 p.m. and the meal is served at 6:00 p.m.

Blood and Food Drives:
GPC partners locally with the Cleveland Food Bank and with LifeShare.

  • We host food drives at least twice a year but will host additional food drives whenever there is a need.
  • Likewise, through our partnership with Lifeshare, GPC host blood drives at least twice a year but will host additional blood drives whenever a local, national, or international need arises.

Health Screenings:
For those in need of wellness checks, we provide health screenings through Lifeline Screenings.

One of GPC's blessings is its facility.  We believe that this resource must be made available to other community agencies that serve the needs of Lakewood.

GPC hosts four AA groups (Friday, Saturday,

Sunday and Monday Evenings at 7:00 p.m.)

The Lakewood YMCA Preschool meets in the lower level of the Building Monday through Friday.

Many other church and Community organizations use our facility for meetings, special programs and concerts.
